Customs & Import Duties

Carbonify ships internationally. Import taxes, VAT or GST, customs duty, brokerage, and carrier handling depend on the destination, order value, product classification, origin, and delivery terms shown at checkout, on your invoice, or in your quotation.

1. Charges at checkout or delivery

Any tax or duty collected by Carbonify will be shown at checkout or on your invoice. Unless an order is expressly marked as duties paid or inclusive, the recipient is responsible for import VAT or GST, customs duty, clearance fees, brokerage, and other local charges assessed at or after import.

2. Importer of record

Unless Carbonify expressly agrees otherwise in writing, the recipient is the importer of record and is responsible for complying with local import rules and paying charges not collected by Carbonify. For business quotations, any stated Incoterm or written delivery term takes priority.

3. Regional information

• United Kingdom: UK VAT treatment can differ according to consignment value and the marketplace or checkout arrangement. Import VAT, customs duty, and carrier fees may be collected at checkout or on import.
• European Union and EEA: VAT may be collected at checkout or on import. Customs duty and carrier clearance fees may also apply according to value, origin, and classification.
• United States: applicable sales tax may be collected at checkout. Import duties, taxes, and carrier fees may be assessed separately under the rules in force when the shipment enters the country.
• Other destinations: local tax, customs, product, and clearance rules apply. Contact the relevant customs authority before ordering if you are uncertain.

4. Your responsibilities

• Provide an accurate delivery address, telephone number, and any information reasonably required for customs clearance.
• Pay charges that were not collected by Carbonify and are lawfully imposed on the shipment.
• Check local rules before ordering products that may be restricted in your destination.

5. Delays, refusal, and returned parcels

Customs inspections can delay delivery and are outside our direct control. If a parcel is refused, unclaimed, or returned because required charges or clearance information were not provided, we will contact you after it returns. Where legally permitted, actual outbound shipping, return shipping, and non-refundable carrier charges may be deducted from any refund.

6. Returning imported goods

Import taxes or duty paid directly to a carrier or customs authority are not held by Carbonify and cannot normally be refunded by us. You may need to apply to the carrier or the relevant customs authority for repayment. We can provide reasonable order documents to support a claim.
